REF P321 - Traditional Asturian Farmhouse in the Heart of the Vaqueiro Region Price: Offers over 80.000 €.

General description of the property:

Traditional Asturian three-storey stone house, with approximately 100 m2 (1,076 sq. ft.) per storey, in good condition. At the front a brick extension was built to house a modern bathroom and kitchen.

Traditional slate roof in perfect condition. The house's floors and interior woodwork are made of chestnut wood.

At the lower part of the house, there is a barn with space for up to 25 head of cattle and various other sheds for storing machinery or for use as fodder storage. There is also a salting facility for hams and sausages and other stables for smaller livestock, as well as a covered garage. As in many rural Asturian buildings, it benefits from a six-peg granary (panera) which is approximately 42 m2 (452 sq.ft.).

The main house and the granary were built between 1875 and 1878. At the top of the back of the house, there is access to a bakery with a traditional wood-fired oven.

Total built area is around 1.025 m 2 (11,033 sq. ft.). The property is sold with two plots of land, one at the back of the house and one at the front, suitable for grazing and/or farming, with a combined area of approximately 12.000 m2 (1.2 ha / 2.96 acres).

Distribution of the main house:

Lower floor: stables.

First floor: Main lodgings including kitchen, bathroom, living room, two bedrooms and an old disused kitchen. The kitchen and bathroom have been built recently.

Second floor: 2 bedrooms. The remaining space on the second floor is accessible from the outside and has been used as a hayloft but has potential to be developed into more rooms. The wood-fired oven is also located there.

Traditional Asturian granary (panera):

Traditional Asturian granaries (paneras and hórreos) have been declared ethnological and cultural assets of interest and as such are protected by law.

The property is isolated from the rest of the village buildings, which affords privacy, independence and quiet.
